Sales Engineer

FPCS is seeking a Sales Engineer with a broad knowledge base in outside and inside plant telecommunications construction with a primary focus on ISP related tasks. 


Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:



  • Research, develop and cold call potential customer within both the government and commercial sectors of the telecommunications services industry.


  • Travel to /attend proposal site surveys as needed to collect any and all required data in order to provide competitive and profitable RFP Submittals.


  • Seek out vendors, contractors and partners as needed to better develop a profitable FPCS Business model. 


  • Travel to /attend, display and network at various tradeshows, conventions, conferences, after hour events, employee functions or symposiums to promote new relations with both employees and customers within our industry.    


  • Run interference for and act as internal/external technical and management escalation for customer issues. 


  • Periodically review Billing/Back Office customer relationships and assists with account reconciliation and collection efforts. 


  • Assist in the research, development and diversification of new business venues outside of the normal FPCS core competencies.  Short term efforts include Wireless, Security, Site Prep/Shelters and Promethean Board customers. 


  • Assist operation team in proposal management of all potential proposals. 


  • Assist with the day to day management and development of marketing and sales material to include presentations, capabilities, branding and web site development. 


  • Gather customer program intelligence, understanding customer requirements, reviewing probable competitors, analyzing new business and service offering such as wireless, security, etc.  Prepare pursuit recommendations, present business cases for pursuit decision, establish capture core team of contractors and or in-house staff members with extensive knowledge of service offering, create capture strategy and plan, develop capture/proposal budget, action plans and collaborate with customer on potential solutions for new venues. 


  • Assist in the coordination, organization and development of data management to include building and managing technical library, photo library, past performance library, etc.


  • Work hand in hand with Operations Team in the preparation of proposal responses to all RFI’s, RFP’s and task orders.  This would include collecting all bid documents, price templates and submittal requirements from each customer and download in associated folders on the server.
