Project Manager

FPCS is seeking a Project Manager to successfully manage between $500K to $5MM Government Telecommunications projects to ensure profit and productivity meets or exceeds FPCS management and customer expectations.  

These skill sets and qualifications will include but are not limited to: 

Time Management – able to plan and efficiently schedule responsibilities to ensure maximum productivity and responsiveness to client needs and project schedules.

Engineering – able to read and understand project plans and specifications, vendor submittals, and all technical projects documents.

Pricing – able to identify and estimate cost of proposed change orders.

Purchasing – able to effectively negotiate vendor pricing, make timely purchases, and secure favorable delivery schedules to ensure prompt installation and maximize productivity.

Documentation / Communication – able to prepare complete, clear, and concise reports, change order proposals and required project documentation in a timely consistent manner; able to prepare accurate monthly cost to complete projections on each assigned project.

Vendor / Subcontractor Relations – develop long term working relationships with preferred vendors and subcontractors to secure the best available pricing, increase actual gross margins, and improve client satisfaction.

Client Relations – able to provide prompt response to client concerns by effective use of company resources to improve client satisfaction and maintain long term positive relationships; speak and write diplomatically to avoid client conflicts and document all concerns and follow up conversations in writing until concern is resolved.

External Relations – build productive working relationships with clients, vendors, and subcontractors while effectively representing the company’s interest to maximize profits.


Quality – work with company personnel to develop and maintain a quality program that will minimize re-work and client concerns.

ProductivityTake ownership of projects by working with company personnel to develop sound preliminary labor plans and project schedules, while continuously monitoring the plan, and modify the plan as needed to maintain or exceed expected production.


Required Knowledge – understanding of OSP, ISP Telecommunication services performed on government and commercial facilities throughout the United States.  Broad knowledge of MicroSoft Excel, Word and Project. 

Experience – Minimum ten (10) years of Telecommunications or similar construction management experience.

Skills / Abilities – well organized, accurate, and attentive to details; excellent communication and public relation abilities; strong computer application skills as related to applicable construction management programs; ability to work in a team environment and assist and support others as needed.
